Austin Texas Engagement Photos || New Orleans Wedding Photographer

New Orleans is a steamy city.

It’s full of 24-hour bars, go-cups for your drinks, and live music every night of the week. It is an easy city to find a party, but it’s not the easiest city to find your person. Your life long partner.

The few who do succeed in finding their match in the city of endless parties are a rare and lucky breed. Finding someone who will choose you first over the many distractions of this beautiful city is something special.

Rebecca and Disha are a part of the lucky few.  They met in New Orleans and grew their relationship among festivals and walks on the Bayou. Now, these two have moved to Austin, Texas, and I was honored to capture their truly unique proposal.

Rebecca and Disha's first engagement was in a few months ago when the two were visiting New Orleans (Pictured on the right). Rebecca proposed to Disha while relaxing on the shores of the Mississippi River. But Rebecca always wanted to be proposed to, and Disha promised to surprise her with a ring when she least expected it.

Rebecca knew that I was coming to photograph the two but thought it was just a usual engagement shoot. Little did she know that Disha had their dog ready with a "Will you Marry my Momma" bandana. Rebecca of course said "yes!" and we celebrated with beers and pizza on Congress Street.

Even though the two were already "engaged," I love when couples break the norms and create wedding traditions that are right for them. I always say, your wedding, your rules.
